Is God Watching You?

Do you believe that God is watching you?

Giving up belief in Gods who watch from the sky does not mean that we will become immoral. Rather, it challenges us to re-examine all our moral systems and see which have good foundations in reality and which can be abandoned because they are relics of past moral systems that can no longer be defended rationally.

Answer
You already are immoral, if you believe in God or not. Immorality must be based on a standard, and the only standard that matters is those of the one who created and designed morals in the first place.

Society-based moral systems are as shify as a used car salesmen. Morals in societies get worse and worse over time, then war comes or some disaster, and people seek God again. Very few people are so shamelessly arrogant and prideful that they can claim athiesism from their death beds.

But IS God watching you and me? It doesn't matter what I believe on the matter, what matters is if it is true or not. Does God watch you? The bible says yes. The bible says God sees your thought life. Imagine there was a device that could read thoughts and display them visually on a screen. Now imagine this device had been planted on you for the past two weeks and there were 2 DVD's worth of video clips of your thought life for the past two weeks. If your friends and family and parents were brought to a room and watched your thought life for the past two weeks, would they consider you to be a moral person, after having seen all the thought you have thought?

That is what it will be like on the Last Day when God judges you in front of all the angels and everyone else. Your thoughts will be on display for everyone to see. Every lie, every lustful thought will be shown to everyone. And you will be put to shame as a criminal for breaking God's law in both thought and deed.

Whatever you think of "past moral systems" is will not matter on that day. You will be Judged by the same standard that all other men will be judged by; God's perfect law that He wrote in stone as the 10 commandments.

So if you died within the next 20 minutes, what you thought won't matter. You didn't think yourself into existance. You were designed before the creation of the world, and you will fufill your purpose in God's will in one of two ways.

You will either realize that you are indeed sinful to the core like the rest of us, and stop being self righteous. And you will seek and find God, and discover the only way to heaven. And once you truly repent and trust in Jesus as the only way to heaven, all of eternity you will thank God and praise God and glorify God for such a kind thing that He did to save a filthy sinner as yourself. God would then make you perfect and allow you to reside in heaven with Himself.

Or...

You will continue in your self righteousness and pride. You will continue to lust and lie, even having been warned that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. You will continue in your sin, and the filth of your heart will increase over time. You will continue to hush your conscience that keeps screaming out to you that you are on the wrong path, and you will continue to fear death and the unknown. But that unknown is made known through God's word. It is appointed to all men once to die, then the judgment. God will judge you based on the 10 commandments and He will judge you based on the words of Jesus. When you do die in your sins, you will keep all of the wages for your sins. Every time you lied, God will give you justice for being a liar and a law breaker. Every time you stole or lusted or blasphemed, or didn't give God thanks, or denied God, or disobeyed your parents, your penalty will add up and up and up. Then when the last sin is tallied, you will be found guilty and you will be bound hand and foot and dragged out to outer darkness where there will be weaping and gnashing of teeth. This is the pit of Hell.

By this, you will fufill your purpose to Glorify God, because when you are tossed into Hell, all of the angels and all of the saved will glorify God for giving you Perfect Justice. In the same way a Judge will be found to be good and Just for sentencing a murder to prison or death, so much more will God be glorified for casting those who break His law into eternal flames.

A Few Scriptures to Consider:

Genesis 6:5 - The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

1 Peter 1:15-19 - but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’ And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Romans 2:4-11 - Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who ‘will render to each one according to his deeds’: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.

1 Peter 5:7 - Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

1 Peter 3:12 - For the Lord is watching his children, listening to their prayers;

Psalm 121:5 - The LORD watches over you the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

Matthew 10:30
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
